Is Halloween Kills coming to Amazon Prime Video?

Halloween Kills is currently out in theaters, and it’s a must-watch for horror fans. Where will you be able to stream it online? Will it be on Amazon Prime Video in the future?

After the theatrical release, movies head to streaming platforms. This has just become the norm, with most production studios having deals with specific streaming platforms.

Halloween Kills will head to SVOD eventually. We’re probably looking at six to eight months from the theatrical release date, which means we’re looking at April to June 2022. The big question for many is where you’ll be able to stream it.

Halloween Kills will not head to Amazon Prime Video

The bad news is we won’t see the horror movie on Amazon Prime Video. Halloween Kills is a Universal Pictures movie, and those movies head to HBO (and HBO Max) after the theatrical release.

The movie won’t stay on those platforms forever. The contract is only for a certain amount of time, usually a couple of years. Then the movies are able to head to other platforms, so there is a chance we’ll see the movie head to Amazon Prime Video at some point in the future.

There is a bit more bad news, too. HBO used to be one of the Amazon Channels subscriptions. You can no longer get the streaming platform via Amazon Channels, which means you’ll need to go directly to the platform. You may as well get HBO Max, which is available as an app on Amazon Fire TVs.

Some good news is the movie will eventually head to Digital to buy. This is likely around the end of 2021 or the start of 2022. You will be able to buy on Amazon Video, so you’ll have the movie added to your Amazon Library.

Halloween Kills is currently out in theaters and will not head to Amazon Prime Video right away.
