Hotel Transylvania 4 is not coming to Amazon in October 2021

A month ago, Sony Pictures Animation announced that Hotel Transylvania: Transforamania would bypass theaters and head to Amazon for streaming. This announcement was a bit of a shock to most people, and when it didn’t arrive on Oct. 1, viewers were even more shocked.
Fans took to social media perplexed as to why they couldn’t stream the film since Sony still had an Oct. 1 release date on the website.
It seems the release may have been delayed to avoid competition with The Addams Family 2 that did release in theaters and VOD on Oct. 1.
Hotel Transylvania 4 release date
Today, Deadline is reporting that Sony has announced the film will stream on Amazon on Jan. 14. This saddened many parents, children, and fans of the franchise.
It seems that when things were first reported, the deal wasn’t 100% closed, and that release date was before the Sony/Amazon deal was even being considered.
Due to the pandemic disrupting things in theaters, many new movies have been released in theaters and on VOD. This change allows those seeking a theater experience that opportunity and considerate of those not ready for it.
Hotel Transylvania: Transformania is the fourth movie in the franchise and is being billed as the final. This movie will see Drac and the rest transformed into humans by Van Hesling’s “Monsterfication Ray.” Johnny, the only human in the bunch, will be transformed into a dragon, a chance which he gladly accepts. The monsters are less than thrilled with their human forms and must figure out how to reverse the effects before it’s too late.
Brian Hull and Brad Abrell have replaced Adam Sandler and Kevin James, respectively, who originally played Dracula and Frankenstein. Selena Gomez, Andy Samberg, David Spade, Steve Buscemi, Kathryn Hahn, Jim Gaffigan, Molly Shannon, Keegan-Michael Key, and Fran Drescher will all be returning in their roles.
Look for Hotel Transylvania 4 on Jan. 14 on Amazon Prime Video.
