Amazon Prime Video is releasing a new and exciting biographical film to its catalog. The Electrical Life of Louis Wain will be coming to the streaming service in November.
This biographical film is directed by BAFTA-winning Will Sharpe with the story by Simon Stephenson. Sharpe and Stephenson collaborated on the screenplay.
The film premiered at the 48th Telluride Film Festival directly, followed by a screening at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2021.

Benedict Cumberbatch plays the titular role and is joined by Claire Foy, Andrea Riseborough, Toby Jones, Sharon Rooney, Jamie Demetriou, Aimee Lou Wood, Olivia Colman, Nick Cae, Taika Waititi, and Richard Ayoade.
The Electrical Life of Louis Wain synopsis
The film is based on the true story of Louis Wain, who adopted a stray kitten that inspired him to paint amazing images of cats for which he became a famous artist. His art depicted the felines with exaggerated eyes making them a unique art form.
Also an inventor and entrepreneur, Wain led an incredible life. The film’s timeline spans from the late 1800s to the 1930s. Wain was a brilliant yet troubled man who was alleged to suffer from schizophrenia that would see him institutionalized.

The trailer shows an extraordinary visual treat of colors and light as we see Wain and the love of his life, Emily (Foy), and their blossoming romance. There is a change of tone when we see Wain start to suffer from schizophrenia or whatever it was that ailed him.
It looks like we will see impressive performances from Cumberbatch and Foy in this film.
