Modern Love Season 2, Episode 7 recap: Memories of a date

When two guys see each other on the street, they’re reminded of their only date with each other on Modern Love Season 2, Episode 7.

Not all relationships work out. Sometimes, people can have a connection but not go on more than one date. That’s something we experience in the penultimate episode of Modern Love Season 2.

The episode uses flashbacks, focusing on the same event but from two different viewpoints. This isn’t about whose story is right, but about how we all experience an event in a different way. We remember things slightly differently, whether for good or bad.

Modern Love Season 2, Episode 7 starts with two former lovers who see each other on the sidewalk. One is with a new boyfriend and the other is with his own friends, but both of them see each other and think of things that happened.

What could have been on Modern Love Season 2, Episode 7

The two men went on one date. It was a successful date that led to them sleeping over at one of the apartments. Things looked good. There was a chance that this relationship could have gone further.

We see the past events from two different perspectives. Both of them show how they met, how they had dinner, and how they ended up at one of the apartments. Then it shows the one thing that brought an end to their short-lived relationship.

It was a phone call. One of the guys found out something had happened at home and had to get the first flight out. The two lovers don’t get a chance to really talk about the future, but they end up back in the same town.

When they come across each other next time, they’ve moved on. However, there’s always that “sliding doors” moment where you wonder “what if?”
