NCIS, A Discovery of Witches, and more on DVD and Blu-ray this week

The end of August tends to bring a lot of DVD and Blu-ray releases. TV shows from the fall come to disc, and that all starts this week.

This is a good week of August, as normal. This is the week where we start to see the fall TV shows come to DVD and Blu-ray. There are more weeks to come of this, but Aug. 17 kicks it all off this year.

NCIS, A Discovery of Witches, and more

We start with the release of NCIS Season 18. The season was a little shorter than we’re used to, but it’s still a good one. Everything starts with Gibbs shooting McGee, and we’re left wondering for a few episodes why that happened. This is Maria Bello’s last season, and it’s also the last season with Mark Harmon in all episodes. He’s taking a step back in Season 19.

Then there’s the release of A Discovery of Witches Season 2 on DVD and Blu-ray. The season picks up where Season 1 left us. Diana and Matthew head to the past, to a time where Queen Elizabeth rules the country. They need to survive the past to complete their mission, while those against them in the present day look for a way to stop them.

As for movies, The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard is heading to DVD and Blu-ray this week. Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson are back, and this time Reynolds’s Bryce is faced to show off his skills when he has no weapons.
