Jordan and Zoe attempt to make their unconventional love work on Modern Love Season 2, Episode 2. Can they make things work to be together?

Caution: There are spoilers from Modern Love Season 2, Episode 2 in this post.

Things start off pretty good for Jordan and Zoe. After meeting in a diner, Jordan passes her his number and she decides to call him. However, she has a medical condition that he needs to understand.

Zoe doesn’t sleep at night. She sleeps during the day, and she’s tried sleeping on a night before. She ends up feeling jet-lagged all the time, so she makes her sleep schedule work for her. She admits that it makes her dating life hard, though.

It’s not like she can do things during the day. Jordan doesn’t think it’s going to be a problem at first, but it eventually catches up to him. He realizes that they can’t have a normal life together.

Can Jordan and Zoe make it work on Modern Love Season 2, Episode 2?

Things come to a head when Jordan’s mother comes to town. Zoe doesn’t set her alarm and ends up sleeping through brunch. She does eventually get there, but it’s too late. Jordan’s mom is heading back to her boat and Jordan simply isn’t happy.

He thinks of a future with Zoe. He considers how they wouldn’t really be able to have the future he dreams of because of Zoe’s sleep schedule. When he asks for time to figure things out, Zoe doesn’t put up a fight. That’s telling for Jordan and he just walks away.

However, neither of them are all that happy without each other. After a “normal” date, Jordan decides to text Zoe to meet at an empty place. A buddy of Jordan’s knows someone moving out, and Jordan is going to move in.

He wants Zoe to move in with him, but how will it all work? Jordan says they need to stop trying to occupy each other’s lives. Instead, they should be happy to see each other in the crossover hours in the day (and there are plenty of them!). He realizes that he loves Zoe’s reality, and he wants that reality to remain in his life.

They become the Day Boy and the Night Girl, a fairy tale that makes it sound like they could make things work. We end Modern Love Season 2, Episode 2 with them giving things a chance. Is it going to be “happily ever after?”
