The first week of August saw some movement at the top of the most read Amazon books list. One of the Harry Potter books moved up into the top spot.

The Harry Potter books regularly take over most spots on the Top 10 list. For a while, they haven’t taken the top spot. Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir has held that spot for a few weeks now, and before that, other books had the top spot.

That’s changed this week. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling gained a spot, getting into the No. 1 spot. Weir’s book lost a spot, still holding onto the respectable No. 2 position.

For the most part, the rest of the Top 10 didn’t change. That is except for Dune by Frank Herbert being the biggest mover on the list.

Dune up, Black Ice enters

Dune gained seven places on the list of most read Amazon books last week. This is after the four places it gained the week before. With more news about the movie, this isn’t all that surprising. There will be a lot of people wanting to read or reread the source material.

It did push Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban down a spot, but all Harry Potter books remained in the Top 10. The Cellist by Daniel Silva was the book to get knocked out, losing three places.

Many other books lost a place each, but there is a notable new addition. Black Ice by Brad Thor entered in 16th place, with plenty of time for it to move up the list for this week.
