We’ve waited for another Grand Tour special, and now it’s here. Well, it’s almost here. The Grand Tour: Lochdown is heading to Amazon tonight.
You can start streaming it at midnight GMT. This is a global original, which is excellent news for those in North America. The releases work on a time zone, and with a midnight GMT drop, that usually means a 7 p.m. ET drop on Amazon Prime Video.
Just what will the trio get up to this time? Why is it called Lochdown?
What is The Grand Tour: Lochdown about?
The special is set in Scotland. It’s certainly one of the most beautiful drives the trio will have ever done, but they won’t get the chance to explore as much as they would usually do. The Lochdown part of the special’s title refers to them being around Loch Ness during lockdown.
Scotland locked down tight when COVID-19 spread. Clarkson says in the trailer for the special that they can’t stay in any of the hotels around the area. So, what are they going to do? That’s part of the fun of this special. It’s time to create campers out of their cars.
Of course, there are all the usual antics. The trio pick their cars, take them to a race track, and have to do challenges. One of them is building a bridge and driving across it. That’s going to end well!
This is just the show we need right now. It’s lighthearted and made purely for entertainment. Sometimes, we just need to watch the three former Top Gear presenters have a bit of fun.
