The Expanse Season 6 is not coming to Amazon in August 2021
We’re still waiting for The Expanse Season 6 to come to Amazon Prime Video. The release is definitely not happening in August 2021.
The wait continues for more episodes of our favorite sci-fi series. After double-checking the Amazon list for August, we definitely don’t see the series.
If we’re honest, we didn’t really expect to see the release this month. While The Expanse Season 6 has reportedly finished filming, it’s going to have a lot of post-production work to get through. This will take months to do to make sure everything looks just right.
So, when are we expecting the season? What will it be focused on? And is there any chance that we can prevent it being the last one?
The Expanse Season 6 release date
We don’t have a release date just yet, but we’re expecting December 2021 at the earliest. This would match the releases of the fourth and fifth seasons. We’re also expecting a hybrid release similar to the way Season 5 came out.
Right now, The Expanse Season 6 is confirmed as the last. It’s unlikely that anything will get Amazon to change its mind because it wasn’t really an Amazon decision. Instead, it was a creative decision.
It’s all linked to the time jump in the books. The show’s creators didn’t want to handle the CGI and aging that would come with the time jump. Instead of opting for it, the show is going to end with where the sixth book ends before the time jump.
Everything is about the war against Marco. He’s gathering the Belt together to fight against Mars and Earth. It’s going to be up to the two planets and the Belters who don’t want to join Marco to fight together.
The Expanse is available to stream in full on Amazon Prime Video. Stay tuned for the latest updates about The Expanse Season 6.
