5 good TV shows on Amazon to watch in August 2021

Not sure what to watch on Amazon Prime Video in August 2021? There are some great TV shows on Amazon throughout the month, and here are the top five.

We’re all getting ready for the new month. There is some excellent content arriving, but the full list of arrivals can be extremely overwhelming. You want to reduce the choice a little.

That’s what we’re here for. We’re looking at all the best options arriving on Amazon Prime Video throughout the month of August. When it comes to shows on Amazon, there is something for all interests, whether you want romance or you need something for the kids.

Two of the options this month are Amazon Originals. The other three are all samples from Amazon Channels. The samples are only available during August, and only one season is available. You’ll need to get the Channel for the rest of the show.

5 must-watch shows on Amazon Prime Video in August 2021

Modern Love Season 2

We start with the biggest Amazon Original arriving this month. Modern Love Season 2 is the show many have been waiting for, and it’s perfect even if you’re not the biggest romance fan. This isn’t your typical romance series. Instead, it focuses on all types of love in the modern world.

Eight episodes are available. Like the first season, they will all focus on different characters. Kit Harington, Tobias Menzies, and Anna Paquin are among the actors on the season.

Modern Love Season 2 is streaming on Aug. 13.

S.O.Z. Soldiers or Zombies Season 1

For those who like zombie shows, there’s an Amazon Original coming with a bit of a twist. The downside is this is only available with English subtitles and not with dubbing.

The series follows an escaped convict. All he wants is his freedom, but the escape from the authorities is the least of his worries. When he ends up injured and turned into a zombie, he finds out that he has soldiers after him too!

S.O.Z. Soldiers or Zombies is on Amazon Prime Video on Aug. 6.

Delicious Season 1

The first of the Amazon Channels samplings is on Acorn TV. Delicious stars Dawn French and Emilia Fox as two women at war. They have both been betrayed by the same man and by each other. Loyalties with friends are questioned as the women work out their own relationships and lives.

It’s a fun comedy that is perfect for Dawn French fans. And if you’ve been hurt by someone in the past, you’ll definitely want to check this one out for a bit of lightheartedness.

Delicious Season 1 is one of the shows on Amazon as a sample on Aug. 1.

Frankie Drake Mysteries Season 1

Love a good period crime drama? Frankie Drake Mysteries is one of the best Canadian shows, and you can watch the first season on Amazon Prime Video during August.

Set in 1920s Toronto, the series follows Drake Private Detectives, a female-only agency. Frankie and her partner Trudy investigate all sorts of crimes and mysteries that the police refuse to do or that have nothing to do with the police. It’s filled with social change and the radical politics of the time. Of course, there’s also the jazz music.

Frankie Drake Mysteries Season 1 is available on Aug. 1 with other seasons on PBS Masterpiece.

Be Cool, Scooby-Doo Season 1

Need something for the children? There are some great options on Amazon Prime Video already, but one of the shows on Amazon to check out this month is Be Cool, Scooby-Doo. You’ve likely already watched it on TV, but there’s nothing wrong with watching it again.

This series needs no introduction. The Scooby Gang is back together and they have mysteries to solve.

Be Cool, Scooby-Doo is coming to Amazon on Aug. 1. Other seasons are on Boomerang.
