Are you ready for a time travel movie with a bit of a twist? The Tomorrow War promises that, and it’s on Amazon Prime Video tonight.

There are all sorts of time travel movies out there. Usually, they involve people heading to the past to fix a problem. The Tomorrow War promises something a little different, taking people from the past to fight in the future.

You’ll be able to start streaming the movie tonight. It’ll drop at midnight GMT, but there’s some good news for those in North America. As this is a global release, there’s a good chance you’ll be able to watch the movie tonight, Thursday, July 1, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.

The earlier release isn’t guaranteed, but it happens more often than it doesn’t. If it’s not available at midnight, keep an eye out up to midnight local.

What is The Tomorrow War about?

As mentioned, most time travel movies focus on someone from the future traveling to the past. The aim is to fix something in the past to prevent the future.

That’s not happening here. The Tomorrow War sees people come from the future to recruit people in the past. There’s a war, and they need people in the past to head to the future to fight that war. The war isn’t like any other, though. The enemy isn’t even human.

Chris Pratt plays Dan Forester, a former Delta Force operator who is one of the recruited to head to the future to fight the war. He leaves his young daughter behind to protect the future for her, and it turns out he will end up fighting beside the grown version of her in the future.
