Amazon Prime has a new action-comedy starring Kate Beckinsale. The film is titled Jolt and will release on the streamer on July 23.

Beckinsale will spread her action wings once again in the action-comedy Jolt. She plays Lindy, a bouncer with a bit of an anger management problem. She is known for her roles in the Underworld films, where she plays the role of Selene, who is loosely based on the Marvel character in the Underworld comics.

The last major action film we saw Beckinsale in was Underworld: Blood Wars (2016), and she starred in the action-drama The Widow in 2019.

Jolt release date

Amazon Prime will release Jolt on July 23. We don’t have much longer now until we can see Beckinsale back in action.

Jolt cast

Beckinsale, as mentioned above, plays the lead Lindy. She is joined by some really great actors, including Stanley Tucci, Bobby Cannavale, Susan Sarandon, Jai Courtney, David Bradley and Laverne Cox.

Jolt trailer

We see Beckinsale as Lindy in the official trailer. She is very blonde for this role, and I kind of like it. We get a glimpse of her trying to live a normal life by keeping her rage under control. When a building explodes with her boyfriend inside, things drastically change.  There are major actions shots of Lindy in many types of defensive arts classes and at the shooting range, where she seems to be a crack shot.

Jolt synopsis

When Lindy’s boyfriend is murdered, she takes it upon herself to investigate as she doesn’t feel the police are doing enough to find the killer. The thing is, Lindy has quite the temperament, that if not controlled, ‘jolts’ her into a murderous rage. She has a vest that is used as a modified shock treatment to keep her under control. But, when she needs answers, she lets her rage take control, giving her the upper hand.

Jolt looks like another great action film featuring Kate Beckinsale that will release on Amazon Prime on July 23.
