Upload Season 2 is not coming to Amazon Prime Video in July 2021

Upload Season 2 has finished filming, but it’s not ready to watch just yet. Sadly, the season isn’t on Amazon Prime Video in July 2021.

We’re into another month, and there are still none of the biggest releases on Amazon that we’ve been waiting for. We’ve checked the list twice, and Upload Season 2 is definitely not on the list.

It’s sad, definitely. However, it’s worth noting that even if COVID hadn’t happened, it would have been around this time of year that we’d have expected the season. Considering filming got started late partly due to COVID, it was always going to be difficult to stick to July 2021.

So, when can we expect the second season of the series? Let’s take a look at what to expect.

Upload Season 2 release date

We’re probably looking at the late fall at the earliest for the season. The good news is filming is complete. That means the series is going through the post-production work.

The bad news is post-production can take some time on a series like this. There are a lot of digital aspects of the show, including everything within the digital world and the handphones you see everyone using.

Upload tries to do as much as possible without VFX. That’s not possible with everything, but it can help to keep the editing process time down. It can take months to get through all the post-production work, and this is a series that needs to be ready in one go.

Like the first season, we’re expecting Upload Season 2 to be released in one binge-watchable session. This probably won’t get the hybrid treatment like The Boys and The Expanse.
