Is Bosch Season 8 coming in 2021?

Bosch Season 7 has only just dropped on Amazon Prime Video. Is there a chance we’ll get to see Bosch Season 8 before 2021 ends?

Harry Bosch returned to our screens with a new case to investigate. That happened a little later than normal in 2021 due to the pandemic, but it wasn’t too much later. Usually, episodes drop in April of each year, but we had to wait until the end of June.

Now everyone is looking for more from the series. Will we see Titus Welliver return as the titular character in Bosch Season 8? Will that happen in 2021?

There is some bad news, but there is also something to look forward to within the Harry Bosch universe.

Bosch Season 8 is not coming in 2021

There isn’t going to be an eighth season of the series. When Amazon renewed the show in 2020, it was for the seventh and final season.

There wasn’t a big fight to save the show. No other networks looked into saving it. There is nothing to produce for the season in 2021.

That doesn’t mean there isn’t anything from the world of Harry Bosch, though. Welliver isn’t done with the character. There’s a reason there was no fight to save the series. Talks of a spin-off came up.

It’s actually going to be more of a continuation than a spin-off since it will still involve the lead character. Could it arrive in 2021? Filming has started on the series, but it’s not going to be ready for a 2021 release date. We’re looking at the spin-off arriving sometime in 2022.

This is actually quite reasonable. It’ll just feel like waiting for a new season of Bosch.

There is going to be a change of platform, though. Amazon Prime Video won’t get the series. Instead, it will go to IMDb TV, Amazon’s free streaming platform.
