Is Them renewed for Season 2?

Them Season 1 came out in April 2021, and it seems like we’ve heard nothing about it since. Has Them been renewed for Season 2 by Amazon?

When there’s no news about an Amazon series after a few weeks, we start to worry about the future. That’s like the case for those who enjoyed Them and want to see more of it. It can seem like Them has been quietly canceled.

Them comes from Lena Waithe and Little Marvin. The first season focused on a Black family moving into the middle of an all-white neighborhood. Set in the 1950s, the family faced threats from the white neighbors who feared all the houses would lose value. However, it turned out there were threats inside the house as well as outside.

The family soon faced supernatural threats from inside the house. And they weren’t the only Black family in the area to face such threats. Now eyes are on whether there will be more from the story, especially with the way things came to an end.

Has Them been renewed?

While there hasn’t been an announcement yet, there is some good news. When Them was first ordered by Amazon, it came with a two-season order. So, technically, no the show hasn’t been renewed but it isn’t canceled.

Is there going to be a Season 2 of Them?

Yes, there will definitely be a second season of the series. However, the show isn’t going to continue the story of the Emory family.

The show is going to be an anthology series, all focused on Black America with hints of the supernatural. It’s not clear what the second season’s story is going to be about or where in time it’s placed. That’s something we’ll keep an eye out for.

When does the new season of Them start?

It typically takes between 14 and 18 months for Amazon shows between seasons. This offers plenty of time to write, film, and edit the episodes. The good thing about this series being renewed ahead of time is that the writing could take place earlier since nobody was waiting for a renewal.

It is possible that the season could arrive as early as April 2022 since writing could already take place. It’s also possible that we could end up waiting until October 2022 depending on the time needed to film and go through post-production.

One thing we know is that it’s very unlikely the season will arrive in 2021.
