Is The Wilds Season 2 coming in 2021?
The Wilds was quick to land a renewal, and now all eyes are on a release date. Will The Wilds Season 2 arrive on Amazon Prime Video this year?
At the end of 2020, we were introduced to a series that was a little like LOST meets Survivor. A group of teenage girls was on the way to a retreat when their plane crashed on a deserted island. They needed to figure out how to survive while managing each others’ personalities and needs.
However, not everything was as it seemed. They thought they were strange and alone, but that wasn’t the case after all. They were being watched and studied.
The Wilds Season 1 finale certainly left us with a lot of questions. The good news is we’re not left with them forever. Answers will arrive because The Wilds Season 2 is confirmed. Now we just need to know when that season is going to arrive.
When will The Wilds Season 2 come to Amazon Prime Video?
Amazon hasn’t set the release date just yet. That’s not too surprising. The show is still filming at the time of writing this, and we’re not expecting a release date until toward the end of the year at the earliest.
There is a chance that The Wilds Season 2 could arrive in 2021. The first season premiered in December 2020. Some Amazon shows have managed a 12-month turnaround, such as The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
However, in most cases, shows take 14 to 18 months for new seasons to arrive. Considering the lower levels of VFX needed compared to the likes of The Boys and Carnival Row, we’re likely looking at the 14-month window. This will take us into early 2022.
Will it get a hybrid release model like some of the Amazon shows recently? Probably not. This is a show that works well as a binge-watch.
