It’s unlikely that the movie will come to Amazon Prime Video. As a Warner Bros. movie, we’re looking at it heading to HBO after the theatrical release. It’s likely to take six to eight months to get to HBO.
In the Heights will be on DVD and Blu-ray before a streaming platform.
What about Digital? As of right now, the movie isn’t available to rent or buy on Amazon Video. It will eventually arrive on there, though. We’re looking at between two and three months. The releases on Digital haven’t been consistent for Warner Bros. during the pandemic.
It’s likely to take the full three months, around the DVD release. This is purely due to the hype, with Warner Bros. likely expecting to see a good return in the theaters.
So far, the musical movie has received some excellent reviews. It’s Certified Fresh with a 96% approval score from the critics, and a 95% score from audiences. This is one of those movies worth heading to the theaters for.
