Warner Bros. has had a very different than normal release format for 2021. Movies aren’t just heading to theaters, but they’re also heading to HBO Max. However, the movies are only available for 30 days on the WarnerMedia streaming service.
The DVD and Blu-ray release hasn’t changed all that much. It’s still taking about three months for movies to go from theater and HBO Max to DVD and Blu-ray.
We’d already predicted the end of June for the Godzilla vs. Kong DVD release date. Now we have the official release date, and we weren’t too far off!

Warner Bros. has set the Godzilla vs. Kong DVD release date for Tuesday, June 15. I’d predicted June 29, so this is just a couple of weeks off. And a couple of weeks earlier than expected, so there are no complaints there!
It will be available on Digital a little earlier. In fact, the Digital release is going to be this month. Get Tuesday, May 21 in your diary for this release. Again, it’s a little earlier than expected.
These dates are worth paying attention to. Could it mean Warner Bros. is looking at changing the schedule for future releases.
Is Godzilla vs. Kong worth buying?
Now you’ll want to know if the movie is worth buying. That means turning to reviews. Watch out for the review bombing on this movie! There were a lot of fans of a certain other Warner Bros. franchise that review-bombed Godzilla vs. Kong unfairly.
The good news is Rotten Tomatoes managed to weed those out. Both critics and audiences enjoyed it, and it is Certified Fresh.
