What is The Courier about?
For those who adore spy thrillers, you’ll want to pay attention to The Courier. Cumberbatch stars as a British businessman named Greville Wynne. Set in the 1960s, he’s recruited by MI-6 and the CIA to spy on the Russians.
It’s a dangerous task, but the two agents who recruit him believe that he is the best for the job. Of course, they’re not going to tell him the truth about how dangerous this is. Why would a normal businessman sign up for something that could lead to his death?
Greville heads to Moscow to form a partnership with Oleg Penkovsky, a Soviet officer who has crucial intelligence that could prevent the Cuban Missile Crisis.
The story is based on truth. Along with Cumberbatch, Rachel Brosnahan, Jessie Buckley, and Merab Ninidze also star.
The Courier is available on Digital, DVD, and Blu-ray on Tuesday, June 1.
