When is Mortal Kombat on DVD and Blu-ray?
Seen Mortal Kombat and now want to own it at home? Here’s a look at what we know about the Mortal Kombat DVD release date so far.
As of right now, there isn’t a DVD and Blu-ray date set. That’s not all too surprising. After all, the movie has only just come out in theaters (and on HBO Max for 30 days).
While we don’t have a DVD release date, it is possible to guestimate a date. We can look at other Warner Bros. releases to get a sense of when Mortal Kombat could come to DVD and Blu-ray. This could also help us figure out when it could come to Digital.
We’ll look at movies that have had similar release structures to this one. That means Wonder Woman 1984 and Judas and the Black Messiah.
When could Mortal Kombat come to DVD and Blu-ray?
While the theatrical release is working a little differently, it looks like that’s all it is. Warner Bros. is still opting for a three-month window between theatrical and DVD. That’s at least the case for Wonder Woman 1984 and Judas and the Black Messiah.
With this in mind, we’re looking at around July 2021 for Mortal Kombat to come to DVD and Blu-ray.
The Digital release is likely to be different. It took about six weeks for Judas and the Black Messiah to get a Digital release, but the movie was only available to rent. This encourages people to head to the theaters, but it also makes the movies accessible for those where theaters aren’t yet open.
Wonder Woman 1984 was released on Digital to buy two weeks before the DVD release date. We can expect something similar for other Warner Bros. movies.
We’re probably looking at the start of June for Mortal Kombat to come to Digital for rent and the start to middle of July for it to be available to buy.
Mortal Kombat is currently available to stream on HBO Max and is also out in theaters.
