This week is certainly the quietest of the whole of April when it comes to shows and movies to watch on Amazon. Here’s what is available to stream.

There aren’t any Amazon Originals arriving this week. You can still check out Them and Frank of Ireland throughout the week, but the next Original is arriving on April 30. Yes, it feels like a bit of a wait but Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse is sure to be worth waiting for.

Until then, we need to look at what Amazon Prime Video and IMDb TV are offering. There are a few movies to check out.

What to watch on Amazon Prime Video this week

We start with IMDb TV, which sees Carol arrive on Tuesday, April 20. The movie stars Cate Blanchett in the title role with Rooney Mara as Therese Belivet, and it is based on the novel The Price of Salt by Patricia Highsmith.

Set in the 1950s, the movie is about an aspiring photographer who falls in love with a woman going through a divorce. Not only is the timing difficult, but it’s completely against the law for this type of relationship.

Amazon Prime Video has four movies arriving on Wednesday, April 21. Venus and Serena is one of them, a biographical movie that focuses on how the Williams sisters became the tennis stars that they are. It’s a look at their lives as children and the drive and determination they both have for the same sport.

When you’re looking for something for the children, The Hero of Color City is something worth checking out this week. It’s a fun and imaginative story about a group of crayons wanting to protect their magical homeland from a terrifying monster. Their journey also leads to them protecting the imagination of children everywhere.
