The Tomorrow War starring Chris Pratt is coming to Amazon Prime Video in July 2021

While there is a lot of focus on casting for Chris Pratt’s The Terminal List, he has a movie coming to Amazon Prime Video first. It’s all about The Tomorrow War.

Amazon has just acquired the worldwide rights to stream The Tomorrow War. And a date is set. Get ready for Friday, July 2.

The movie is from director Chris McKay with Pratt in the leading role. It will be exclusive to Amazon Prime Video globally when it releases. All 240 countries and territories will get it at the same time.

What is The Tomorrow War about?

The Tomorrow War follows a group of time travelers who arrive in the present day from the year 2051. A deadly alien species has invaded and humankind is losing. The only hope is to bring people from the past to head to the future and join the fight.

Erm, why not head to when the aliens invaded to prevent that from happening?

Pratt plays Dan Forester, a high school teacher recruited for the world. He teams up with The Handmaid’s Tale‘s Yvonne Strahovski, who plays a brilliant scientist, and Counterpart‘s J.K. Simmons, who plays Dan’s estranged father. They’re desperate to prevent the destruction of the human race.

The movie promises to be full of action, drama, humor, and much more. It sounds about right with the cast that is attached.

There is no trailer released as of yet. That will probably arrive closer to the movie’s release date.

You’ll also want to keep an eye on The Terminal List casting, which Pratt is both starring in and executive producing. The series already has an outstanding cast, with the latest news involving Patrick Schwartzenegger joining in a recurring role.
