Leonardo: Amazon Prime Video acquires rights for UK viewers

Those who want to watch Aidan Turner in Leonardo in the UK have some great news. Amazon Prime Video has acquired the UK rights to the series.

Poldark fans will certainly miss seeing Turner on their screens. After five seasons, the period drama came to an end, but Turner has found his way to another period drama. The great news is it’s going to be very easy to watch it in the UK.

Turner plays Leonardo Da Vinci in the eight-episode series that follows the life of the genius. We’ve all heard stories of what the man did outside of his art and his personal struggles, but it’s not a story that has been told all that much on TV.

This series from The Man in the High Castle‘s Frank Spotnitz is a chance to look at Da Vinci’s love of art, science, and technology. It’s a chance to break down the mysteries around him.

Turner is joined by Giancarlo Giannini, Matilda De Angelis, Freddie Highmore, Carlos Cuevas, and James D’Arcy

When to expect Leonardo on Amazon Prime Video UK

The eight-part series will be available to all in the UK on Friday, April 16. All eight episodes will drop at once with Amazon acquiring the rights.

What about those wanting to watch in other countries? There’s little word on where it’s coming just yet.

The series was originally planned for 2020 but the pandemic got in the way. TV shows are finally getting through filming and post-production making it possible to bring more content. We will hopefully see some dates for this and other shows in the U.S. within the next few months.
