Most sold Amazon books last week: Dr. Seuss takes over the list

With the news that six Dr. Seuss books will no longer be sold, it may not be surprising to find out multiple books have become the most sold Amazon books last week.

At the start of March, readers learned that six Dr. Seuss books would no longer be sold due to racist images. This was a decision made by Dr. Seuss’s estate and not a government decision and included books like If I Ran a Zoo and The Cat’s Quizzer.

It shouldn’t be surprising to find out that the list of most sold Amazon books saw a huge change last week. Dr. Seuss books took over the majority of the list, all but one of them entering the list for the first time ever. The book that ranks the highest? Cat in the Hat.

Dr. Seuss’s Beginning Book Collection took fifth place, with Green Eggs and Ham claiming third place. Most of the books you’ll see on the list are ones you’ve either read in the past or you have in a collection. You’ll know the titles, and it’s clearly a reaction to the recent news.

A complete change to the Top 3

The Dr. Seuss books aren’t the only new additions to the list. The entire Top 3 has changed, with Stephen King’s latest novel Later getting into the top spot. Life After Death by Sister Souljah has made it into second place after just being released to the public. It’s the sequel to Coldest Winter Ever and has some heavily mixed reviews.

There are only three books from the list the previous week. The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah dropped two places to land in fourth place. The Midnight Library by Matt Haig lost six places, but holds onto a Top 10 spot. How to Catch a Leprechaun by Adam Wallace lost three places to land into 19th place.
