The Terminal List: Jeanne Tripplehorn and Riley Keough join the series
Chris Pratt’s The Terminal List has added two more women to the cast. Jeanne Tripplehorn and Riley Keough will join the series in lead roles.
Just after getting Constance Wu in one of the lead roles, The Terminal List has gained two more women to watch. The first announced by Deadline was Jeanne Tripplehorn, who is known for her roles in Criminal Minds, Basic Instinct, and Undone. Tripplehorn has only signed a one-year deal, something that wasn’t made clear with other actresses, suggesting that her role is only planned for the first season.
The second announced was Riley Keough, known for roles in Mad Max: Fury Road, The Devil All the Time, and The Lodge. Keough was also recently cast in the lead for Daisy and the Six.
Who will they play on The Terminal List?
As well as announcing the casting, we got to know a little about their characters. Tripplehorn will play Lorraine Hartley, the first female Secretary of Defense. As the first woman in her position, we can expect an ambitious character. This can often mean willing to cause problems for the lead characters, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here.
Instead, she wants to protect James Reece, played by Chris Pratt. She’s dealing with the consequences of her own directives, which has put the valued SEALs and their families at risk.
While ambitious, she is also savvy. She is very numbers-driven, which doesn’t always connect to the objectives on the ground.
Keough will play James’s wife, Lauren Reece. While her husband is a SEAL, she’s not a weak woman in the background. Instead, she’s a triathlete and considered a “warrior in her own right.” This is a woman who seems to have it all, including the balance between work and family.
While her husband is deployed, she ensures the other platoon families are supported. It’s not been an easy marriage, but Lauren and James make sure they keep the communication open and are 100% honest with each other. They are in all this together.
