Will Tom and Jerry come to Amazon Prime Video in the future?

Tom and Jerry is out in theaters right now. Will the part-animated, part-live-action movie head to Amazon Prime Video to stream in the future?

It’s time for the infamous cat and mouse duo to get the part-live-action treatment. Tom and Jerry isn’t just coming to theaters. It’s currently also available to stream on HBO Max. Just remember that this is only for a month and then it’ll be exclusive to theaters for a while.

There’s a chance you’re waiting for it to come to DVD and Blu-ray. There’s also a chance you’re waiting for it to come to another streaming service, like Amazon Prime Video.

Is there a chance that Tom and Jerry will come to Amazon Prime Video? Let’s look at past Warner Bros. movies to determine that.

Never say “never” for Tom and Jerry on Amazon Prime Video

I wouldn’t expect the part-animated movie to head to Amazon Prime Video right away. When it’s done the theater run and come to DVD, it will likely get another streaming release. Where will that be?

Most Warner Bros. movies head to HBO Now and HBO Max. There’s no reason to think that this is going to be any different, even with the initial HBO Max release. We haven’t had a chance to see how it’s working for post-theatrical release streaming just yet since that only started with Wonder Woman 1984, but there are no signs that anything there is going to change.

But that doesn’t mean Amazon Prime Video will never get the movie. In a few years’ time, it is possible that Amazon will land the streaming rights. It just isn’t going to happen any time soon, and it definitely won’t happen right away.

Tom and Jerry is currently in theaters and on HBO Max until the end of March 2021.
