Will Firefly Lane come to DVD and Blu-ray?

Firefly Lane is one of the biggest new series on streaming platforms. Will you be able to own the first season on DVD and Blu-ray?

While Firefly Lane is a Netflix series, it doesn’t completely rule out the possibility of the series coming to DVD and Blu-ray. However, it is important to note that it’s rare for a Netflix show to head to physical disc.

With so many streaming services out there, Netflix is going to try to keep as much exclusive to the service as possible. Even before the multiple streaming services, it wasn’t always guaranteed that a show would head to DVD and Blu-ray.

Usually, it depends on the production company. For example, Warner Bros. shows do tend to head to DVD and Blu-ray, which is why the likes of Fuller House and The Kominsky Method have got DVD releases.

Firefly Lane is unlikely to come to DVD and Blu-ray

If we’re honest, it’s unlikely that we’ll see Firefly Lane head to DVD and Blu-ray. Stephanie Germain Productions and Curly Girly Productions are behind the production of the series. They’re production companies on the smaller side, so keeping the shows exclusive to Netflix could be more beneficial for them.

It is going to depend on what’s in the contract, but a DVD release is unlikely.

If the show does get a DVD and Blu-ray release, we’re looking at a long wait. It can take up to a year for Netflix shows to head to physical disc. This isn’t always, but it is common. The idea is that it keeps the exclusivity on Netflix for longer.

Amazon is the same way, by the way. Why put something on DVD when it means people don’t need to sign up for a subscription service anymore?
