With great power comes great expectations? That’s certainly the way it seems when it comes to Invincible. Check out the all-new trailer for the series.

You know the saying “with great power comes great responsibility,” right? Well, Invincible is going a different route. At least, that’s what it seems from the start of the trailer.

One thing a lot of origin stories focus on is a superhero who has to keep his abilities a secret. Even his family isn’t allowed to know. That’s not the case with this upcoming Amazon Original Series. The main character is the son of a top superhero, and that puts a lot of pressure onto him.

When your father is one of the greatest heroes out there, naturally, there are a lot of expectations that you will be the same. Some of that pressure comes from yourself. Even take out the hero, children with high profile parents feel the pressure to bring something just as big to the table.

What superhero does Mark want to be on Invincible?

The trailer does offer us a little hope. While there is some pressure, it doesn’t come from all sides.

Mark is initially worried that he hasn’t come into his powers yet. When he does come into them, he struggles to control his abilities, which furthers his self-doubt. How can he live up to the example his father has set?

His mom is the best support in the promo. What type of hero does Mark want to be? It’s clear he’s never been asked that before, and his mom is going to constantly be on his side. As parents, we need to stop putting these big expectations based on what we’ve accomplished and let our children figure out who they want to be.

The trailer gives us a great look at what to expect on Invincible.
