What to watch on Amazon this week: The Informer and more
It’s a very quiet week, but there is something to watch on Amazon Prime Video. This is also a great time to head back to the start of the month for releases.
Things have been very quiet on Amazon Prime Video toward the end of this month. A big problem is the lack of original content available due to the pandemic shutting down filming last year. While broadcast networks were affected right away, we always knew it would be January to April 2021 by the time streaming networks started to struggle.
That’s where we are now. But while it’s quiet, there is still something to watch on Amazon.
This week there are two releases dropping. Both are at the end of the week, but there’s something for crime movies and sports fans.
What to watch on Amazon Prime Video this week
The Informer starring Joel Kinnaman is one of the releases on Friday, Feb. 26. He stars as an ex-con who wants to get on the straight path after time in prison. However, when he agrees to be an informant for the FBI, he ends up back in prison undercover in a way that could get him killed.
The second release is Top Class: The Life and Times of the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers. This limited series is for the basketball fans out there. It follows a number of basketball players as they take on the pressures of being state champions at their elite high school. A third championship is on the line, but can they continue to succeed?
When will we know about March 2021 listings?
Amazon isn’t all that consistent when it comes to the listings for the next month. We do know of a few movies and TV shows coming our way during the month, mostly Coming 2 America, but we probably won’t get the full list until about midway through the week.
We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for you.
