We know Jack Ryan Season 3 is officially happening. When will it premiere and what will the season be about? Here’s what we know so far.

The third season was confirmed back in February 2019, but we’re still waiting two years later for something about it. Usually, the show drops around the fall, but that didn’t happen last year. Is there a chance it will happen in 2021?

Jack Ryan Season 3 was hit like so many other shows during the pandemic. Filming couldn’t start, which meant the intended release date was pushed back. That’s continued to happen, although filming is set to begin soon. There’s no confirmation if it has started yet, but John Krasinski was on Saturday Night Live, which suggests it hasn’t yet.

As mentioned, there isn’t a confirmed release date just yet. Since filming hasn’t started yet, we’re looking at late 2021 at the earliest for a release date. We could possibly have to wait until 2022.

Amazon has started moving into weekly releases, but this is for shows where the creators have asked for it—it’s not an Amazon ploy to get more money! It’s unlikely Jack Ryan Season 3 will get the weekly release format. However, shows do benefit from weekly releases because they remain in the public eye for longer.

We know Krasinski is returning as the titular character. There’s no way around him not being part of the show. There’s also no reason to think that Wendell Pierce won’t return as James Greer.

But what about the others? We don’t have much in the way of confirmation just yet. We do know that Blindspot‘s Marianne Jean-Baptiste will be in the third season as Elizabeth Wright, a CIA Chief of Station.

We could also see Michael Kelly, Noomi Rapace, and Jovan Adepo back after being introduced in the second season. There are some who would love to see Abbie Cornish return after being missing from the second season.

The synopsis is hard to figure out. We don’t know which book the season will follow, and there are 28 Tom Clancy books that cover the Ryanverse in some way, shape, or form.
