It’s the first of the month, which means it’s the day for the majority of the Amazon new releases. What is available to watch today, Feb. 1?

The first of the month is the traditional day for the big drops. Amazon did try it for the last day of each month for a while, but it looks like the start of the month is the best option.

Like previous months, there are a few Amazon Channels additions. Various channels like STARZ, Acorn TV, and PBS Masterpiece offer the first seasons of their top shows for free on Amazon Prime Video for a month. Viewers can continue the shows on the respective services.

There are also some great movies as part of the Amazon new releases for the month. In total, 48 new titles are joining the streamer.

Notable Amazon new releases on Feb. 1

The first of the month certainly has some notable additions. If you’re looking for a period drama, The White Princess is the place to turn.

The STARZ series tells the story of Elizabeth of York. After the battle of Bosworth, her Yorkist uncle is not longer King of England. The Lancaster rival, Henry Tudor, won, but the country remains divided. The best thing Elizabeth and Henry can do is marry, but will it be a happy marriage and will Elizabeth get any say in anything?

For those who prefer movies, The Prestige is one of the top additions this month. Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman star as two rival magicians. One magician will do whatever he can to figure out the trick that the other is performing, and will do what it takes to then get back on top.

What is the answer to the trick? It’s something this one magician never saw coming.

Then there’s Moulin Rouge, which is perfect for musical and romance fans. Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman star as two people who fall in love but realistically can’t be together. They’ll do what they can to make it possible, but what will stop them from their happily ever after?
