Amazon acquires Hope to adapt, Nicole Kidman to star and EP
If you adored Nicole Kidman in The Undoing, you’ll want to pay attention to her upcoming project. She’ll star in and executive produce Amazon’s Hope.
Amazon is upping its game for new original content, and it’s making sure big names are involved. Nicole Kidman is one of the most sought after actresses, especially after the success of Big Little Lies and The Undoing. It’s no wonder the company has snapped up the latest opportunity.
Kidman will both star in and executive produce Hope, a new Amazon TV series. The series itself is based on a Norwegian movie of the same name, according to Deadline. It sounds like this will be another limited series, which has become popular for the bigger names in Hollywood.
What do we know about Hope so far? Let’s take a look.
What is Hope about?
The movie is the Norwegian entry for the Best International Feature Film category at the 2021 Oscars. It’s packed with mystery, humor, and tradegy, following one family during one Christmas.
Throughout the series, we’ll follow the 12 days of Christmas for one family. It’s a large blended family with six children involved, leading to plenty of drama, heartbreak, and entertainment. The story itself is described as a “falling in love again” type of story.
Those are all the details that have been revealed so far. We just know Kidman will star with her Blossom Films banner executive producing it. Alice Bell will adapt and serve as an executive producer on the series. She’s currently working on The Expatriates, which will also be an Amazon Studios series.
The work is only just starting. We likely won’t hear about this series until 2022 or 2023 at the earliest.
