One Night in Miami is one of the good Amazon movies to watch this weekend

There are some excellent Amazon movies to check out between Jan. 16 and Jan. 17. It’s time to pick out the top five.

One of the movies is the latest Amazon Original Movie, which is a must-watch for its standout cast, important topic, and brilliant directing from Regina King. There is one other that you can watch free on Amazon Prime Video.

The other three movies are on three of the bigger Amazon Channels: HBO, STARZ, and SHOWTIME.

Here are the five Amazon movies to check out this weekend.

One Night in Miami

Amazon has brought One Night in Miami to our screens. It’s set in the 1960s, taking place the night after Mohammed Ali’s biggest win of his career. He and his friends gather to celebrate, but the topic of conversation moves onto the problems at hand around the country. It’s all about the civil rights movement.

With its standout cast and Regina King directing, there is no way you want to skip over this movie.

The Rhythm Section

For those who like an action movie, Blake Lively’s The Rhythm Section is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. She takes on different looks as she goes after the people who killed her family.

And she knows her family was killed. It wasn’t the plane accident that it was made out to be.

Dallas Buyers Club

Need something that is emotional? Dallas Buyers Club is the movie for you. Matthew McConaughey stars as Ron, a rodeo cowboy who is diagnosed with AIDS. When he finds out a banned drug can help patients survive longer, he decides to find a way around the system.

It’s an important look at one man doing what he can for himself and people just like him. He forms bonds he never expected to in a world where AIDS sufferers are ostracized.

The movie is on SHOWTIME today.

Stephen King’s IT

For those who need a horror movie, HBO has you covered. Stephen King’s IT is now available to stream. It’s the 1990 version of the movie, bringing you the same story but with Tim Curry as the killer clown. Honestly, he’s the reason I’m so terrified of clowns even today.

The story follows what you’ve come to know and love through the book or even the updated rebooted movie. A group of children are terrorized by a killer clown, which turns out to be some sort of alien creature.

Airplane

In the mood for a comedy? You’re covered on this list of Amazon movies with a STARZ addition. It’s all about Airplane!

The dark comedy has come up on This Is Us recently, so it’s likely on your mind. It’s full of some hilarious one-liners, although they probably wouldn’t be allowed today. The sequel is also on STARZ right now.
