Ammonite is one of the Digital releases happening on Jan. 12

January initially looked quiet when it came to Digital releases, but that’s not the case anymore. Tuesday, Jan. 12 sees six new additions, and there are many more to come.

Let’s just focus on the movies coming to Amazon Video this week. All six will arrive on Tuesday, although there may be more to come as the week goes on. There have been some surprise releases on the day throughout this pandemic.

We’ll look at some of the notable additions and then include all the Digital releases happening this week.

Ammonite, Come Play, and more

One of the biggest releases of the week is going to be Ammonite. Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan star in this movie set in the 1840s. Two women meet and realize they have a deeper connection that the time period doesn’t allow.

If you prefer a horror movie, look out for the release of Come Play. This movie focuses on a creature known as Larry. Larry lives in a storybook app that a young autistic boy has on his smartphone. What happens when Larry finds a way to get into reality?

Is this creature dangerous? What does he want from the children? You’ll want to watch to find out.

For those looking out for a romance movie, Monsoon is something to check out. Kit doesn’t remember much of his home country, Vietnam. When he returns, he visits like a Western tourist, taking in the exotic land. His goal is to find a beautiful spot to scatter the ashes of his parents, which leads to a journey to find out his identity.

Along the way he meets Lewis, the son of an American soldier who fought in the Vietnam war (the reason Kit’s family left). While there is a tension between them for being on opposite sides of a war at first, they soon connect through romance.

It’s a beautifully shot movie and well worth getting once it comes to Digital.
