After a bit of a wait, the American Gods Season 3 premiere is finally here. It’s time to see what’s in store for Shadow Moon on the next leg of his journey.

There has been quite a bit of change for Season 3. Chic Eglee is now the showrunner of the series, with Neil Gaiman still there as EP. According to Gaiman, the season gets back on track with the book more than the second season did.

Cast changes have also happened. Mr. Nancy won’t be back. Orlando Jones says that Freemantle, the studio behind the series, doesn’t think Mr. Nancy’s character is right for the current day. Meanwhile, Freemantle says the exit was plot-based.

While there is the loss of a great character, there are some new actors joining the fray. We’ll get to see some of them in the American Gods Season 3 premiere.

What can we expect in the American Gods Season 3 premiere?

So, while there are some big changes overall, we need to focus on the premiere episode. What should we expect?

This season will follow Shadow breaking away and becoming his own man. He takes on the name Mike in Lakeside, Wisconsin, and he’s going to try to escape Mr. Wednesday and everyone else. That’s not exactly going to be possible when he ends up on a spiritual journey by the gods of his Black ancestors, the Orishas.
