One Night in Miami and more coming to Amazon Prime Video this week

One Night in Miami is one of the new releases on Amazon Prime Video this week

While it is on the quieter side this week, there are still some excellent new releases coming to Amazon Prime Video. It’s all about quality not quantity, right?

There are three new releases throughout the week. The first drops tomorrow, Jan. 11. The other two we’ll have to wait until the end of the week for. One of those is an Amazon Original Movie that you’re not going to want to miss out on, and the other is an Amazon Original Series.

Let’s dive into the new releases.

The Rhythm Section on Amazon Prime Video

The first release of the week is The Rhythm Section. Blake Lively stars as Stephanie, a young woman who goes into a downward spiral after a plane crash claims the lives of those close to her. But what if the plane crash wasn’t an accident?

When she learns a terrorist organization caused the incident, Stephanie decides she’ll take revenge against all those involved. It means a lot of look changes and lessons to learn as she takes her new mission.

Two new releases on Friday

On Friday, Jan. 15, there will be two new releases on Amazon Prime Video. The first is One Night in Miami, one of the biggest releases of the month on Prime

The movie sees four of the most iconic Black men from the 1960s meeting for one night to discuss the state of the country. It’s all about focusing on the Civil Rights Movement. It has a standout cast and is Regina King’s feature directorial debut.

The other release is a series. Tandav Season 1 drops on Prime Video. The Indian Amazon Original takes us inside the world of the largest democracy around the globe, DILLI. It’s full of power and manipulation, taking us inside the darkest parts of Indian politics.

Indian has some excellent Amazon Originals, including Made in Heaven and Mirzapur, so there’s no doubt we’re excited for this one.
