This is a global original, which means excellent news for those in North America. The series will drop on Amazon Prime Video at midnight GMT on Friday, Dec. 11. This could mean an earlier than expected release in North America.
There’s an excellent chance of the series dropping at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on Thursday, Dec. 10. This isn’t a guarantee, but it is a good chance of the release. Most other global originals have dropped early.
If it’s not dropped early, you’ll get it by midnight in your local area. I would keep checking in each hour if it’s a series you want to watch.
All episodes will drop at once. This is going to be an excellent binge-watch.
What is The Wilds about?
The 10-episode series follows the story of a group of teen girls stranded on an island after a plane crash. They need to lean on each other to survive, but they all come from different backgrounds. It’s not even clear if they all know each other!
It certainly offers a coming of age story, but there’s a survivalist story mixed in. And then there’s the big mystery of why the plane crashed in the first place.
After all, it turns out the plane crash may not have been an accident. The girls’ parents may have been involved, but the girls just don’t know it yet. Things may be uncovered as they realize nobody is coming to save them.
