Take a look at the upcoming Amazon Original Movie, Herself

As the new year comes, we need movies that are inspirational and powerful. There’s nothing more inspirational than a woman down on her luck doing absolutely everything she can for her children. The Amazon Original Movie Herself is the inspirational movie of 2021.

The trailer for the new movie is out, giving us just a glimpse of the highs and lows of the movie. After escaping an abusive relationship, Sandra just wants the best for her children. She is happy to build her own home, but she needs land to do that.

With everyone working against her, she’s not even sure there’s a chance to escape the struggles in life. That is until Peggy, the woman she cleans for, offers her the land at the bottom of the garden. Inspired by someone who can build a home for 35,000 Euros, Sandra gets to work on building a new life for her children.

Trouble brews with the abusive ex on Herself

Of course, it’s not all going to be that simple. One of the things with an abusive ex is they just can’t give up the control. He decides to take Sandra back to court, trying to prove that she is an unfit mother.

Sandra isn’t going to step down from the fight. There’s a powerful moment in the trailer when she calls everyone out on their questions. Why do they ask why she didn’t leave instead of asking why he didn’t stop?

Would the court really allow an abusive man get rights to children who are scared of him and don’t want to see him? Sadly, that happens all too often, but is there hope in this movie that the court makes the right decision for the children?
