The Santa Clause

Another excellent family movie is The Santa Clause, and its two sequels. Tim Allen is just an everyday man, struggling to connect with his son after a divorce. When he accidentally causes Santa to fall off a roof, he ends up becoming the Man in the Red Suit.

Not only does the new Santa have to figure out how to deliver presents to everyone before the night is over, but he also learns what it means to be a man and a father. It starts a journey that sees him fall in love and run the workshop that is the North Pole.

You can watch all three movies on Disney Plus, but get them on Amazon Video so you have them in your library forever.

Elf

Finally, there are no better Christmas movies for kids than Elf. Will Ferrell isn’t for everyone, except when it comes to this movie. He is Buddy, a human who accidentally ends up at the North Pole. An elf raises him, but it’s soon clear that Buddy will need to go “home” and see his biological father, a man on Santa’s naughty list.

Buddy learns about the real world, and he gets the chance to change the hearts of those who have forgotten what Christmas is all about. At the same time, he gets a second chance with his father, while finding out where his heart truly lies.
