8. Can Butcher raise Ryan without prejudice?

Butcher made a promise to Becca to raise Ryan. Becca knows that Butcher can be a good father if he puts his mind to it. The problem is Butcher is grieving again.

He just got some hope. He found out Becca was alive and she’d come to him when she needed to get Ryan back. However, Becca is now dead—and definitely dead this time. Butcher needs to raise her son without prejudice.

Yet, he’ll partially blame Ryan for Becca’s death. And there’s the fact that he’s Homelander’s son. There’s a lot working against Ryan right now, but there is a little hope that Butcher can raise him without prejudice for the sake of Becca’s memory.

7. How will Ryan deal with his mom’s death?

Speaking of Ryan, though, he’s not going to have it easy. He knows that he was responsible for his mom’s death. Sure, it was an accident, but the brain doesn’t work like that, does it? Ryan was protecting his mom from Stormfront, but he didn’t have enough control over his powers.

At the same time, Ryan will have a lot of hormones right now. He’s trying to grow up, get used to the fact that he has powers, understand the real world around him, and deal with grief. That’s a lot for him.
