If you love horror movies, Z is going to be the movie to pay attention to. It follows shy and unpopular Josh, an eight-year-old who opens up to his imaginary friend, Z. At first, it all looks like a harmless bit of fun, until Josh develops behavioral problems that lead to him being suspended from school.
Josh’s mom, Beth, realizes that Z may not be the make-believe friend that she initially thinks he is. Maybe he’s real, and a danger to everyone.
You’ll be able to get Z from Sept. 1.
5. Transplant Season 1
NBC opted for a few acquisitions this year. One of those is Transplant, a Canadian medical drama about a Syrian doctor in a Canadian hospital. There have been a few Canadian dramas acquired by networks to air in the States, and they all go down a treat.
Transplant Season 1 premieres on Sept. 1. It’s one of the earliest start dates. You can’t get the show on Amazon Video just yet, despite the entire first season already fully aired in Canada. You’ll need to wait for the first episode to be released on NBC. Get it with the season pass to keep the costs down.
4. The Wind Rises
We all love some well-created anime, right? The Wind Rises is one of the biggest Digital releases in September. Now is the time to pre-order to make sure it’s in your Amazon Library right away.
The Wind Rises is about Jiro, who has always dreamed of flying planes but his nearsightedness means that it’s impossible. He gets a job as an aeronautical engineer instead, where he becomes one of the leading plane designers of his time.
You’ll be able to watch from Sept. 1.
