Will Cursed Season 1 come to DVD and Blu-ray in the future?
Will you be able to own Cursed on DVD and Blu-ray?
Netflix has some strong releases throughout July. Cursed is just the latest, a retelling of the Arthurian legend from the view of Nimue. Now you may be wondering whether Cursed will come to DVD and Blu-ray.
While being able to watch something with a subscription service can be great, it means you need the service to watch it again in the future. Many people still want the DVD and Blu-rays so they can watch their favorite shows even if they choose to get rid of the subscription service.
It’s not clear if Cursed will come to DVD and Blu-ray. Some Netflix Originals can become physical copies. This is usually due to the production studio knowing that there are benefits to the DVD and Blu-ray releases. Warner Bros. is the main one to still want the DVD releases, which is why Fuller House and The Kominsky Method have come to DVD.
Cursed may not head to DVD in the future
The Arthurian retelling was created by Arcanum and Frank Miller Ink. This could limit the chances of the series heading to DVD and Blu-ray. There may be something in the licensing to keep it solely on Netflix.
This isn’t that surprising. With the new streaming services coming to town, the latest being Peacock TV, Netflix is going to want to keep as much exclusive on the service as it possibly can. A show like Cursed will definitely want to remain exclusive to continue to draw in subscribers.
Only time will tell.
One thing to note is that you can get the graphic novel that the series is based on. That’s available on Amazon right now.
