We’re waiting until Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2020 for the DVD to drop on shelves. For those keeping track, that’s the same date as Chicago Med Season 5. There’s a little longer to wait for PD, which isn’t arriving until Sept. 8, 2020.

What’s included in the Chicago Fire Season 8 DVD boxset?
You’ll get all 20 episodes of the season on the Chicago Fire Season 8 DVD. This season is shorter than most simply due to filming being stopped due to the coronavirus. The final two episodes will be used in some sort of way for the confirmed ninth season of the firefighter drama.
The episodes from the Med and PD crossovers will also be included in the boxset. That’s it, though. Universal TV has stopped included a lot of bonus features, as it sounds like there just isn’t enough interest in the DVD sales to justify it. Of course, the sales will drop without bonus features because that’s why a lot of people buy the boxsets, right?
There are two notable episodes during this season. The first is the premiere, which sees Yuri Sardarov’s last episode. The second is the finale, which is now the last appearance for Annie Ilonzeh.
The good news with the release date is that there’s plenty of time to catch up before Season 9. NBC has opted for a standard fall season, although it’s still in the air whether Chicago Fire and other shows will be able to film during the summer. Either way, the season wouldn’t premiere until the end of September, so you’ve got time to catch up on Season 8 if you fell behind.
