The Left Right Game is the latest series picked up by Amazon. Based on a podcast, here’s everything we know about the series so far.

We may be in the middle of a pandemic, but Amazon is still looking at adding new content to its streaming service. The Left Right Game is the latest addition, based on the QCode podcast.

The details haven’t been fully worked out yet. There’s little we know so far, but it’s enough to have us interested in this new Amazon Original series.

Tessa Thompson is involved

If you’re interested in who will be behind the development of the series, Thor: Ragnarok‘s Tessa Thompson is going to be one of the executive producers, according to Deadline. She already knows the world, voicing the main character on the podcast series.

In the podcast, Thompson’s character is an idealistic journalist who wants to get her name out there. So, she heads off on a journey with paranormal explorers who play the Left/Right Game along the way. Of course, it’s a sci-fi podcast, so there’s supernatural, mysteries, and fantasy along the way.

Aml Ameen, Dayo Okeniyi, Inanna Sarkis, and W. Early Brown were also among the voice stars of the podcast. It’s unknown if they’ll be part of the TV series.

Other EPs will include Briana Kavanaugh-Jones, Justin Levy, Fred Berger, David Henning, and Rob Herting.

Jack Anderson will adapt the series

When developing a series based on another format, it’s important to have the original person involved. There’s no danger of not having that with The Left Right Game.

Jack Anderson wrote the episodes for the podcast. This podcast was based on a blog, which Anderson also wrote. Well, it turns out that he’s also going to write the series and also serve as an executive producer. Perfect!

The podcast is 10 episodes long. It’s not clear if this is how many episodes will be in the Amazon Original. It’s likely, as eight to 10 episodes has become the standard length for most Originals.

Right now, only the writing and planning will be able to happen. Filming has shut down around the world due to the novel coronavirus. So, we’re not looking at The Left Right Game being available to watch until at least late 2021.
