March 17 will see the release of some big movies from the end of last year. Here are the three big DVD and Blu-ray releases you’ll want to get this week.

There are some big DVD and Blu-ray releases on Mar. 17. And with many people staying home, you likely want to make sure your entertainment bases are covered. That leads to looking at the movies to buy this week.

When it comes to movies, you’re certainly covered. There is something for all interests. Whether you need a laugh with family or you want a movie based on a true story, there’s a release happening. Here are the three you’ll want to put on high-priority for this week.

3. A Hidden Life

There are a couple of DVD and Blu-ray releases about true stories this week. The first is A Hidden Life set during World War II, about an Austrian farmer who chose to be a conscientious objector. Unfortunately, that meant imprisonment and potential death. It was a difficult choice, especially with a family close to him. But he couldn’t’ bring himself to support the Nazi regime.

It’s not often movies focus on those who were in Austria at the time of World War II. We don’t hear much about the people who refused to join the Nazis. This is certainly a movie for viewers to check out.

2. Richard Jewell

The second released is the story based on the bombings during the 1996 Summer Olympics. When Richard Jewell finds a bomb and prevents mass casualities, he becomes a hero. However, he soon becomes the perpetrator, and it’s up to the people around him to try to protect his name.

Paul Walter Hauser and Kathy Bates were particularly praised by critics for the movie. This is certainly one for those who enjoy movies based on truth. It will bring out some mixed feelings about how authorities treat people just to get a few answers.

1. Jumanji: The Next Level

The top DVD and Blu-ray release of the week has to be Jumanji: The Next Level. While not as surprising as the first revival movie, it’s still entertaining to watch. It’s great for the whole family with plenty of messages about acceptance, friendship, and support.

We follow the four friends once more into the video game that is Jumanji. Once more, they need to figure out how to win the game and head back home. At the same time, they need to remember their strengths and the friendship they gained from the first time.
