4. Carnival Row

The majority of TV shows, especially fantasy or sci-fi, are based on books, movies, or other forms of media. That’s not the case for Carnival Row, which certainly makes it one of the best Amazon Originals in 2019. On top of that, it had a great cast, an excellent story, and some absolutely beautiful costumes.

We got a take of refugees and racism, told through magical creatures instead of the color of the skin. It was a story of love and family, of acceptance and understanding, and of growing tensions as people feared differences. Fortunately, there is a second season of Carnival Row coming.

3. Undone

Undone was another one of those Amazon Originals based on absolutely nothing. The original idea also brought some intriguing CGI, which added a layer of realism to the animated story. And we can’t overlook the darker undertones, showing that the creators aren’t afraid to take risks and cover difficult taboo subjects.

The series focuses on 28-year-old Alma, who is in a near-fatal accident. Afterward, she starts to see her father and learns that she can bend time. This could help her save her dad in the past, preventing his death. But is it all real or in her head? We need the second season, which has been confirmed, to tell us.
