There are plenty of great TV shows to check out for free with your Prime membership. And we don’t just mean the Amazon Originals. Here are five shows to check out on Amazon this New Year’s Eve.

5. House

Want a fun medical drama? House is the series to check out this New Year’s Eve. All eight seasons are on Amazon, bringing the bet of Hugh Laurie as Dr. Gregory House. He may be a brilliant medical doctor, but he’s got no bedside manner at all. In fact, he wouldn’t talk to his patients if he could avoid it.

Chicago Fire and Once Upon a Time fans will enjoy this to see Jesse Spencer and Jennifer Morrison in earlier roles. It’s also an excellent drama mixed with the comedy.

4. Psyche

Need a good comedy? Psyche is the series to turn to. All eight seasons are available on Amazon, and it’s a fun show to check out on New Year’s Eve. The series is a crime dramedy, following Shawn Spencer who has excellent powers of deduction that the police believe him to be psychic. Naturally, he allows the police to think that!

With excellent actors and great writing, there’s no doubt that you’ll want to watch Psyche during New Year’s Eve.

3. The Man in the High Castle

There’s no doubt that you want a show that offers a full story. While that’s up for debate with The Man in the High Castle series finale, there are certainly many storylines wrapped up neatly. And this is an intriguing tale to stream during New Year’s Eve.

It’s one of power, what could have been, and revolution. This is one of people fighting for their rights, fighting for a better world. Isn’t that what we all hope for as we enter a new year and a new decade?

2. Grimm

Sometimes you want a TV series that you can forget about the real world with. You want a fantasy show that brings stories to life, especially fairy tales. That’s what you get with Grimm. All six seasons are on Amazon right now, and it’s the perfect binge-watch.

One man learns that he’s a Grimm, a set of elite criminal profilers who protect the world from dangerous, mystical creatures. Now it’s up to him to keep the balance between mythology and humanity.

1. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

There’s only one show that can be at the top of the list. The New Year is all about making changes for the better. It’s about being someone different, chasing dreams, and making resolutions (that you know you’ll give up on in a few weeks time). The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is the perfect show to get in the spirit of that.

It’s all about one woman who makes changes after her husband leaves her. She chases a dream that isn’t done by her gender during the 1950s, but that isn’t going to stop her.
