3. Big Little Lies

When it comes to contained stories, Big Little Lies is something that you need to check out. The first season is based on the book of the same name. It follows a town as they tell the story of five women and their involvement in some sort of incident at a dance.

What was the incident? What did the five women do? That’s something to find out as the first season plays out.

As for the second, it picks up after the events, moving past the source material in a way that makes sense and adds more drama. I won’t share what it moves past, as that would give away so much of the mystery of the first season if you haven’t watched the series yet.

Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, and Zoe Kravitz are among the stars in this series. It’s a tale of family, friends, and loyalty, as we follow the Monterey Five through the trauma and the aftermath.

You can watch both seasons on HBO right now. There are no plans to bring a third season. However, this was a series originally intended as a limited series and the creators found a way to develop a second season. A third could work out if there is a story there, but only if that happens.
