5 good shows to watch on HBO at Thanksgiving weekend
4. Westworld
When you want a fantasy world that isn’t eight seasons long, Westworld is the place to turn. As well as being a fantasy, it has an element of a tech thriller. After all, many of the lead characters are actually robots!
Westworld is classed as a futuristic Western series. The series is set in a Western-themed amusement park, where the visitors will interact with the robots. The visitors have the chance to live out some of their deepest desires. There’s no need to worry about what people will think since the robots are programmed to just offer up the fantasies.
The memories of the robots are wiped at the end of each day. All they know is how to follow a cycle of pre-programmed responses. At least, that’s what the humans believe.
When the robots start to malfunction, the safety of the visitors is put at risk. The robots start to remember events from the previous days, allowing them to change the way they act. They learn from their interactions, leading to them gaining more power and also more questions.
There are two seasons of Westworld currently on HBO. A third has been commissioned but won’t be on the streamer until next year. Thanksgiving is an excellent chance to get caught up ready for the third season debut.
