5. American Gods
When it comes to wanting something that’s weird and wonderful, American Gods is the only place to turn. The STARZ original is based on the novel by Neil Gaiman, and certainly takes you through the magical world of the Old Gods and New.
Ricky Whittle stars as Shadow Moon. After his wife dies, he’s released from prison early. That leads to him on a journey with a man named Mr. Wednesday, who offers Shadow a job as his personal bodyguard. When Shadow takes him on that mission, he ends up on a journey of meeting a number of weird and wonderful people.

It soon turns out that he’s on a journey to collect the Old Gods. The war between the Old Gods and New Gods is brewing and it looks like Shadow is the only one that can stop it.
Two seasons are currently available to binge-watch. It’s a trippy watch that will take a couple of viewings to fully grasp. The third season has been confirmed with a new showrunner taking over things.
Fans of Gaiman’s books will want to check out the series. The first season is spectacular. The second season isn’t as good but that’s not surprising considering cast and showrunner changes. There’s still a lot of hope for the third season.
